Fundraising Committee
The fundraising committee is responsible for raising money to support NOSO goals and activities. This committee plans and organizes fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives, seeks donations or sponsorships, and works to build relationships with supporters and donors. Committee members will serve on a volunteer basis and are expected to commit to the full NOSO season from September to June. At the end of tenure, committee members are eligible to reapply for another season. We are looking for up to 6 fundraising committee members.
These members will work along with the Director of Fundraising who also serves as a member of the NOSO Board. Currently this board representative is Wayne Dionne.
Social Media Committee
The social media committee manages and oversees an organization’s presence on platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok and others. Their role is to create and share content, promote events and initiatives, engage with followers, and help build the organization’s brand and online community. Committee members will plan and execute social engagement activities to build a strong ninja community. Committee members will serve on a volunteer basis and are expected to commit to the full NOSO season from September to June. At the end of tenure, committee members are eligible to reapply for another season. We are looking for up to 6 social media committee members. These members will work along with the Director of Social Media who also serves as a member of the NOSO Board. Currently this board representative is Jaymar Marayag.
Competition Support Committee
The competition support committee is responsible for helping host gyms plan and execute NOSO competitions and events. They are responsible for providing support on league rules, course design, ninja works and any other needs the host gym requires. Committee members will serve on a volunteer basis and are expected to commit to the full NOSO season from September to June. At the end of tenure, committee members are eligible to reapply for another season. We are looking for up to 6 competition support committee members. These members will work along with the Director of Competition Support who also serves as a member of the NOSO Board. Currently this board representative is Carol-Lynn Holden.
Provincials Committee
The provincials committee is responsible for organizing and coordinating all aspects of the provincial championship. This committee handles logistics such as scheduling, venue setup, registration, staffing, equipment, safety and all other aspects necessary to run the provincial championship. They will work with other committees to manage communication, promotion, and partnerships with sponsors or vendors. Their goal is to ensure the event runs smoothly, stays on budget, and provides a great experience for everyone attending. Committee members will serve on a volunteer basis and are expected to commit to the full NOSO season from September to June. At the end of tenure, committee members are eligible to reapply for another season. We are looking for up to 8 provincials committee members. These members will work along with the Chair and Vice Chair. Currently these board representatives are Jeremy White and Michelle Vanderheide.
Athlete Advisory Committee
The athlete advisory committee serves as the official voice of athletes, ensuring that their perspectives, rights, and welfare are represented in all areas of decision-making.The committee works to foster open communication between athletes and organizational leadership. Its goals include advocating for athlete well-being, promoting fair play, supporting career development both during and after competition, and enhancing the overall athlete experience. Committee members must be at least 12 years of age. We are looking for 8-12 athletes to serve on the Advisory Committee. Applicants will be selected to ensure the Advisory Committee is representative of all Ontario athletes and stakeholders of NOSO. Committee members will serve on a volunteer basis and are expected to commit to the full NOSO season from September to June. At the end of tenure, committee members are eligible to reapply for another season. These members will work along with the Director of Athlete Advisory Committee who also serves as a member of the NOSO Board. Currently this board representative is Mark Longman.
NOSO Competitions
Volunteers are always needed at our season competitions. Host gyms are always looking for volunteers in various roles such as co-referees, resetters, line managers and other competition support. We can connect you with a the host gym if you’re interested in volunteering.
