Athlete Information

An athlete’s competition age is determined by their age as of January 1 of the calendar year in which the season ends. For example, for the 2025–2026 season (September 2025 to June 2026), the athlete’s competition age is their actual age as of January 1, 2026. This age will determine the athlete’s division for the entire season, regardless of when competitions occur.

The following are the age divisions being utilized for this season:

Division NameAge Range
7U5–7 years old
9U8–9 years old
11U10–11 years old
13U12–13 years old

Any athlete interested in participating in a NOSO event will require two things:

NinjaWorks Athlete ID: What You Need to Know

To compete in any NOSO-sanctioned competition, every athlete must have a NinjaWorks Athlete ID. This unique six-digit ID tracks your competition results across all events and is recognized by multiple ninja leagues—not just NOSO.

Your Athlete ID is linked to you, not a specific league, so once you have one, you can use it at any competition that requires a NinjaWorks ID.

Parents & Minors

  • Each child competing must have their own NinjaWorks Athlete ID.
  • If your child doesn’t already have one, you’ll need to create an Athlete Profile for them through NinjaWorks.
  • If you have multiple children, you’ll create a separate profile and ID for each child, but you can manage them all from a single NinjaWorks account.

Already Have a NinjaWorks Athlete ID?

If you or your child have competed in other leagues that use NinjaWorks, you can use the same ID for NOSO events. You can look up your NinjaWorks ID here.

About your NOSO registration

A NOSO membership is required to compete at a NOSO sanctioned competition. NOSO is a registered not-for-profit organization, and every dollar from your membership goes right back into supporting athletes.

Your membership helps fund:

  • Regular Season Competitions – medals, league operations, and athlete support.
  • Ninja Mania – Our Provincial Championship – medals, season awards, venue rental, and event production.
  • NinjaWorks – the official platform for competition results and season leaderboards.
